Screw pin bow shackles are precision cast of type 316 stainless steel. Type 316 stainless steel contains molybdenum which enhances the materials resistance to corrosion. Stainless steel forms a passive layer of corrosion on the surface that does not accelerate to the core of the shackle like a galvanized shackle would.
